Construction Materials Engineering & Testing (CMET) Section

ACIL members in its Construction Materials Engineering & Testing (CMET) include members that provide testing for the construction industry including, but not limited to: footing and drilled pier inspection, reinforcing steel sampling and testing, structural steel inspection, concrete placement inspection, soil compaction testing as well as aggregate tests and concrete or asphaltic concrete mix design; Environmental assessment and audits of commercial, industrial and/or private property, remedial investigations, preparation of clean-up plans for contaminated sites, and/or monitoring the execution of the remediation work; Testing services in the areas of geotechnical engineering, geohydrolic studies, pavement design, slope stability analysis, subsurface and/or mining engineering, and geophysics. For members only, CMET conference calls are held the second Thursday of each month at 2:00 pm ET.  Please contact Bob Uttenweiler, Section Executive Officer, if you would like to be added to the CMET distribution list, ruttenweiler@acil.org.

Mission  

To enhance the image and professional stature of firms testing in the civil engineering fields through client education and to address issues of concern to construction materials engineering and geotechnical/geoscience firms in the areas of risk management, insurance, software, contracts and training.  For more specifics on activities relating to accomplishing this mission, review the section's value proposition.
