(150 kHz – 1 GHz) PT Scheme





MAJOR EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIES PRE-REQUISITE REQUIREMENTS FOR SUBMITTING ANTENNA PORT CONDUCTED EMISSIONS MEASUREMENTS

  • It is a REQUIREMENT of this PT Scheme that all Participants that choose to submit Antenna Port Conducted Emissions PT Data must be Test Laboratories that are either ISO/IEC 17025:2005 Accredited with a Scope of Accreditation that includes ANSI C63.10-2013, or, are Test Laboratories that wish to add ANSI C63.10-2013 to the Scope of their existing ISO/IEC 17025:2005 Accreditation, or, are Test Laboratories that wish to become ISO/IEC 17025:2005 Accredited with a Scope of Accreditation that will initially include ANSI C63.10-2013.
  • It is a REQUIREMENT of this PT Scheme that all Participants that choose to submit Antenna Port Conducted Emissions PT Data must be Test Laboratories that possess all of the test equipment required for the making of final compliance Antenna Port Conducted Emissions measurements in accordance with ANSI C63.10-2013.
  • Because the PT Test Artifact used in this PT Scheme generates a broadband RF output, the measurements made of its RF output will vary with detector type and bandwidth. Because this PT Scheme is based upon ANSI C63.4-2014 and ANSI C63.10-2013, it is a REQUIREMENT of this PT Scheme that participants use one or more EMI Meter(s) that comply with either ANSI C63.2-2009 (or a later revision of ANSI C63.2) or CISPR 16-1-1:2010 (or a later revision of CISPR 16-1-1), and which have current, valid traceable calibration(s). The "EMI Meter(s)" may be either an EMI Receiver or a Spectrum Analyzer System fitted with the appropriate accessories (i.e., CISPR Bandwidths and a Quasi-Peak Detector). FFT-type Time Domain EMI Receivers satisfying the requirements of CISPR 16-1-1:2015 may also be used to collect measured data for this PT Scheme.
  • Regardless of which kind of EMI Meter is used, it is a REQUIREMENT of this PT Scheme that (in accordance with Clause 4.1.4.2.1 of ANSI C63.10-2013), when making Antenna Port Conducted Emissions measurements, the EMI Meter must be set to employ Quasi-Peak Detection using a 9 kHz CISPR Resolution Bandwidth (from 150 kHz to 30 MHz).
  • It is a REQUIREMENT of this PT Scheme that all of the PT Data (measurements) collected by your Test Laboratory during your participation in this PT Scheme must be entered into the applicable worksheets in the ACE PT Inc. - provided Spreadsheet Template Form before it is submitted.
  • It is a REQUIREMENT of this PT Scheme that all of the collateral data items (i.e., information about your Laboratory's Test Facility and Test Equipment that were used to perform the PT measurements you are submitting) listed in the Laboratory Information worksheet of the ACE PT Inc. - provided Spreadsheet Template Form be entered into that worksheet before it is submitted.

MAJOR EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIES PRE-REQUISITE REQUIREMENTS FOR SUBMITTING RADIATED EMISSIONS MEASUREMENTS

  • It is a REQUIREMENT of this PT Scheme that all Participants that choose to submit Radiated Emissions PT Data must be Test Laboratories that are either ISO/IEC 17025:2005 Accredited with a Scope of Accreditation that includes at least ANSI C63.4-2014, or, are Test Laboratories that wish to add ANSI C63.4-2014 to the Scope of their existing ISO/IEC 17025:2005 Accreditation, or, are Test Laboratories that wish to become ISO/IEC 17025:2005 Accredited with a Scope of Accreditation that will initially include ANSI C63.4-2014.
  • It is a REQUIREMENT of this PT Scheme that all Participants that choose to submit Radiated Emissions PT Data must be Test Laboratories that possess the test equipment and the test facilities required for the making of final compliance Radiated Emissions measurements in accordance with ANSI C63.4-2014.
  • It is a REQUIREMENT of this PT Scheme that the OATS or RF Semi-Anechoic Chamber Facilities used to make the Radiated Emissions measurements for this PT Scheme must meet the Site Validation criteria of ANSI C63.4-2014 (inclusive of any amendments which may be published thereto) over the frequency range 30 MHz to 1 GHz. That is, the test site must have fully satisfied the NSA [Normalized Site Attenuation] or VSA [Volumetric Site Attenuation] (as applicable) +/- 4 dB requirement from 30 MHz to 1 GHz in both Horizontal Polarization and Vertical Polarization at the 3 meter distance (if applicable), and/or at the 10 m distance (if applicable).
  • Because the PT Test Artifact used in this PT Scheme generates a broadband RF output, the measurements made of its RF output will vary with detector type and bandwidth. Because this PT Scheme is based upon ANSI C63.4-2014 and ANSI C63.10-2013, it is a REQUIREMENT of this PT Scheme that participants use one or more EMI Meter(s) that comply with either ANSI C63.2-2009 (or a later revision of ANSI C63.2) or CISPR 16-1-1:2010 (or a later revision of CISPR 16-1-1), and which have current, valid traceable calibration(s). The "EMI Meter(s)" may be either an EMI Receiver or a Spectrum Analyzer System fitted with the appropriate accessories (i.e., CISPR Bandwidths and a Quasi-Peak Detector). FFT-type Time Domain EMI Receivers satisfying the requirements of CISPR 16-1-1:2015 may also be used to collect measured data for this PT Scheme.
  • Regardless of which kind of EMI Meter is used, it is a REQUIREMENT of this PT Scheme that (in accordance with Clause 4.2.4.1 of ANSI C63.4-2014), when making Radiated Emissions measurements, the EMI Meter must be set to employ Quasi-Peak Detection using a CISPR Resolution Bandwidth of 120 kHz (from 30 MHz to 1000 MHz).
  • It is a REQUIREMENT of this PT Scheme that the PT Test Artifact must be placed upon a non-conducting Support Table as specified in ANSI C63.4-2014. (Note: for best results, we STRONGLY SUGGEST (but we DO NOT require) that Support Tables constructed from Expanded Polystyrene [EPS] (e.g., Styrofoam™ be used).
  • It is a REQUIREMENT of this PT Scheme that all of the receive antenna(s) used must be of one or more of the types of linearly-polarized receive antennas specified as permissible for use from 30 MHz to 1000 MHz in Clause 4.5.1, Table 2 of ANSI C63.4-2014. No other kinds of antennas are allowed to be used.
  • It is a REQUIREMENT of this PT Scheme that each of the receive antenna(s) used must have a valid, current antenna calibration that was performed in accordance with ANSI C63.5-2006 (or a later revision of ANSI C63.5). (Antennas that have been calibrated in accordance with earlier revisions of ANSI C63.5 must NOT be used). It is permitted to use either passive antennas with or without external pre-amplification, or, antenna(s) fitted with integral pre-amplifiers.
  • It is a REQUIREMENT of this PT Scheme that, in accordance with Clause 8.3.2.2 of ANSI C63.4-2014, the Antennas used must be installed either on a “non-boresight” mast capable of scanning the receive antenna(s) used from 1 m to 4 m in height, or, on a "boresight" mast equipped with a mechanism that allows the antennas mounted on it to be scanned from 1 m to 4 m in height whilst in a "non-boresight" mode.
  • It is a REQUIREMENT of this PT Scheme that all of the PT Data (measurements) collected by your Test Laboratory during your participation in this PT Scheme must be entered into the applicable worksheets in the ACE PT Inc. - provided Spreadsheet Template Form before it is submitted.
