  • Access to high level FDA personnel, including Acting Director of Field Services (DFS) Brian Baker to discuss ongoing FSMA issues as well as the acceptance of abbreviated data packages
  • Establishment of an informal working group with FDA to resolve day-to-day laboratory issues arising at ports of entry
  • FDA recognition of the significant percentage of food testing completed by independent testing laboratories, including under FDA detention
  • ACIL proposal to the FDA to allow independent testing laboratories opportunities to assist the FDA in random compliance testing of food imports and increase FDA inspection percentage from under 1%, to possibly over 5%

“As an independent testing laboratory owner for 30 years and an ACIL member for almost as long, I clearly recognize that ACIL is the only national trade association that consistently and effectively represents the interests of the independent laboratory community at all levels of government. ACIL provides several opportunities each year to network with peers, agency stakeholders, customers and industry experts resulting in long-term business relationships that provide direct benefits to member companies.  Some of these opportunities include:

“There is no easier way to access leaders of the independent testing laboratory community than participating in ACIL. As president of a construction materials engineering and testing company, as well as current Chairman of ACIL, I appreciate every opportunity to meet with other testing laboratory owners, as well as manufacturers and suppliers. We are all part of the same industry and together we can create new technologies, new opportunities and increase profitability.” Steven Bowser; President, Bowser-Morner, Inc & ACIL Chairman

“ACIL has been an integral part of Microbac Laboratories for many years. I can safely say that at least $29 million of Microbac revenues are as a direct result of relationships formed right here at the ACIL.” J. Trevor Boyce, Chairman, Microbac Laboratories

“I was able to double my insurance coverage with the same deductible for only about an 18% increase over another quote I had. I was extremely pleased with this year's rate, which was 40% less than last year for the same coverage! Numbers like that go to the bottom line. Don Sweeney, President, DLS Electronic Systems, Inc
