ACIL members in its Food Sciences Section (FSS), perform microbiological, chemical and physical services to characterize composition, purity, residue content and contamination in the areas of food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and related manufacturing industries. Testing and research the safety and/or efficacy of drugs, cosmetics, food additives, medical devices, pesticides and other chemical products regulated by federal, state, and local authorities including FDA, USDA, EPA, and various departments of agriculture and health.
