ACIL members in its Construction Materials Engineering & Testing (CMET) include members that provide testing for the construction industry including, but not limited to:

  • footing and drilled pier inspection
  • reinforcing steel sampling and testing
  • aggregate tests and
  • concrete or asphaltic concrete mix design
  • environmental assessment and audits of commercial, industrial and/or private property
  • remedial investigations
  • preparation of clean-up plans for contaminated sites
  • monitoring remediation work
  • soil compaction testing (aggregate tests)
  • structural steel inspection
  • concrete placement inspection
  • assessment and audits of commercial, industrial and/or private property
  • geotechnical engineering,
  • geohydrolic studies
  • pavement design
  • slope stability analysis, subsurface and/or mining engineering
  • geophysics

Mission  

To enhance the image and professional stature of firms testing in the civil engineering fields through client education and to address issues of concern to construction materials engineering and geotechnical/geoscience firms in the areas of risk management, insurance, software, contracts and training.  For more specifics on activities relating to accomplishing this mission, review the section's value proposition.
